E. Colgan, Sensei Chief Instructor
"My karate training has been an incredibly strong and deeply personal experience.
Put in words it has been rewarding, frustrating, challenging, frightening and spiritual. But this does not adequately express what is seemingly impossible to describe verbally. Karate has truly made and enriched my life."
"Karate-do (any martial art) is a lifelong journey, a way of life that encourages and develops self-discipline, confidence, perseverance and inner peace. It is my life's passion, and full-time profession since 1995 to train and improve myself and to pass on my knowledge and training experiences to my students, with the hope of lighting in them, a flame, quenched only by the thirst for lifelong training in the martial arts." |

| Robert Kreutzer, Sensei Instructor Sensei Kreutzer has been keenly interested in martial arts for pretty much his
whole life.
Sensei Kreutzer first caught the bug as a 4th grader. There were many nights in
the mid-'70s spent arguing with his parents to let him stay up late enough to
watch the "King-Fu" television series on ABC television. Later, he became a
regular at a movie theater in Austin, Texas which featured Chinese kung-fu
movies every Saturday at midnight.
In 1983, he finally walked into a dojo and hasn't stopped training since. Sensei
Kreutzer received his first black belt in 1991, successfully testing with famed
instructor Fumio Demura in the art of Shito-ryu karate-do. Sensei Kreutzer has also
trained in Shotokan karate. In 1992, Sensei Kreutzer began what would be nine years
of training in street-oriented ju-jitsu.
Sensei Kreutzer began his training in Shuri-ryu in 2003 and has been a regular
instructor of the art since than. Sensei Kreutzer is married (his wife, Cheryl, is
also a black belt in Shuri-ryu) with no children but with four dogs, a cat and
four chickens. His other hobbies and work include freelance journalism, drawing,
gardening, and cooking.
